In This Issue: ---- Part 2 – Mental Aikido To Choose or Not To Choose (150 seconds) I was recently asked by a reader to write a Monday Morning Minute on “Making Choices.” Why is it that some choices are easy to make while others feel like we are under the weight of a 10 ton truck? I’m thinking of the time I bought my first computer or, better yet, sought to find the perfect way to propose to Jeri; the sort of choice that you want to get perfect because you are afraid what might get lost if you don’t get it just right. You spend hours and sometimes days thinking about the pros and cons and whether you are going to make the right decision. When I knew I wanted to propose to Jeri I started to freak out about how to do it. Do I have her arrested by my police friend and ask her while she is handcuffed? Or how about taking her up in a hot air balloon and asking her over champagne? I agonized for days as I asked each married couple I could find about romantic and memorable proposals and weighed all the choices. After a long talk with Fear, Doubt, and Frustration, I realized I never asked my Heart. My Heart knew it was the right decision to make to ask Jeri to be my wife, but I never thought to ask this same knowing place how to do it. So with blind faith, I opened my Heart and saw a small beautiful town named Truth or Consequences with a quiet and romantic Italian restaurant and me down on one knee asking, and seeing her shake her head yes as tears flowed down her cheeks. Note to self -- It is always perfect when I ask my head to step aside and take the time to listen what is in my Heart. So, if you are tired of struggling and agonizing over a tough decision in your business or your life, tell your mind to take a hike and ask your Heart. If you haven’t listened to your Heart in a while, you can try this exercise:
