Diagonosed with SSS (133 Seconds)

I am sitting looking at the mound of paperwork scattered over my desk.  I begin to think of all the things I have committed to getting done;  the new landing page on my website, the audio equipment to hook up to my computer, picking up my daughter at 5:00, a soccer game tonight at 9PM.  It feels like the list goes on and on and on.

Does this never ending priority list sound familiar?

I find it interesting that my chaos tends to create more chaos and my stress begets more stress.  If you are like me and you are getting more of the same, then what do you do?

In the fast pace of 21st century business there is always more we can do.  So if it is impossible to complete our list of to-do’s, we must find a way to be complete with all our incompletion.

I find that checking in to see if I have been exposed to Super Serious Syndrome (SSS) can be extremely helpful.  SSS is when my focus is directed towards the rough realities and the paradox that I have created a list of priorities that is impossible to complete.  Usually the onset of SSS is mild, but without the proper antidote, it can infest my livelihood and create a dark shadow on my attitude causing lethargy, blame, and negativity to seep out.

So what is the antidote to this SSS?

It’s simple.  Start by not taking yourself so darn serious.  If you have trouble with this, then begin by scrunching your face, pursing your lips, and then stick your tongue out.

Next, try to make as many people as you can smile.

And finally, remember that you will not remember the years, month, or days of your life, but the moments.

So have a Merry Mental Moment and if you are starting to be exposed to SSS and want more support then contact me at 503-522-4562 for a nonserious complementary consultation.

Wishing you all a Happy Monday,

Jason
